Belle-Vue Rock
35 m high, the Saignon rock, called Belle- Vue, identifies the village.
It overlooks and protects the Apt valley.
Panoramic view on the Calavon river, Mount ventoux, Lure, (see orientation table on the site).
It is a natural site which was used in the past as a protection against invasions (3rd to 9th centuries). Wells, halls, stairs, the rock is a genuine fortress and was the base to 3 different medieval castles, the ruins of which can still be seen.
2 hours' walk to visit both the village and the rock.
